Project Manager/Supervisor (working in Antwerp, Belgium)

Professional Testing Services, part of the Glacier Group, has provided a
comprehensive non-destructive testing and inspection service to major clients
across multiple energy sectors for over 20 years. The company has extensive
non-destructive testing (NDT) experience in the UK and overseas, and
currently employs more than 70 highly skilled and qualified technicians
performing Ultrasonic Testing, Radiographic Inspection, Surface Inspection
(MPI & DPI) and Visual Inspection.

An exciting opportunity has now arisen for an experienced Project
Manager/Supervisor to join Professional Testing Services, working from
our client site in Belgium.

Please note:

1) this position will require to work a shift rotation of 3 weeks on and
1 week off.

2) job holder will be eligible for travel and accommodation allowances.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Supporting the Operations Manager with the management of the
    location and the provision of an effective service to the Client.
  • Ensuring financial targets, in particular labour costs, and other
    agreed targets are met in Belgium.
  • Reviewing working practices to ensure client needs are fully met
    and ensure all operations are carried out in a safe, efficient and
    most cost effective manner.
  • Ensure safety regulations are followed and company performance
    targets on HSE are being improved.
  • Investigating customer satisfaction and reporting any issues to
    Client Operations Manager.
  • Supporting business development activities including; customer
    presentations, preparation of quotations, client follow up and
    closing deals.
  • Working with production managers and senior management in
    all client locations to strengthen relationships at all levels.
  • Reviewing equipment needs.
  • Providing accurate sales and labour forecasts on a weekly basis
    to management.
  • Management and supervision of Organisation operational activities
    on assigned project.
  • Effective implementation of Organisation Quality System on
    assigned projects.
  • Supervisory/management experience of engineering inspection
    and non-destructive testing.
  • Management and supervision of Organisation operational
    activities on assigned project.
  • To evaluate and make decisions on clients complaints and appeals.
  • Maintenance of the calibration and equipment records.
  • Undertake any other duty of a reasonable nature as required
    by management.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • PCN Level 2 Qualified UT (3.8/9), MT & PT for a minimum
    of five years.
  • Sound knowledge of improving efficiency and effectiveness
    of manpower.
  • Strong customer orientation with demonstrable client retention
    skills.
  • Commercially astute with excellent negotiating skills and the
    ability to handle and overcome objections.
  • Strong financial and business acumen.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, communication, influencing
    and organisational skills.
  • Team and goal oriented.
  • Strong analytical skills coupled with practical, hands on
    problem solving approach.
  • High energy and drive.
  • IT literate with specific experience using Microsoft Excel,
    Word & PowerPoint programs.

Key Tasks & Other Duties

  • Contract implementation.
  • Allocation and distribution of work. Production control.
  • Control and distribution of Quality System documents and
    related activities on assigned project to ensure compliance
    with all Customer and statutory health and safety requirements.
  • Quality System review, reporting and feedback.
  • Client liaison.
  • Ensure that Surveillance and Technical Audits are carried out.
